About Us

MARIA JUTERUD is a small, independent slow fashion brand based in Oslo, Norway. Our garments are size-inclusive and body positive, designed and handmade in Norway. Our main priority is to make people of all shapes and sizes feel amazing in the clothes we make!

The people behind the brand:

Maria Juterud:

Our head designer and seamstress is Maria. She has several years of experience in fashion design and sewing, including costume design, and design and making of custom one of a kind dresses. She has also worked both as an apprentice, and on her own with tailoring of wedding gowns. She has experience with a big range of bodies, and has learned a lot about how important fit, sizing and inclusitivity is. Her biggest passion is to provide unique clothing, for every body and size, so that everyone can feel like they are in a fairytale.

Vilde Brattekås:

Vilde has completed education in clothing design at Copenhagen Academy of Fashion Design, and she is currently studying clothing and costume design at The Academy of fine arts in Oslo (Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo). She has been sewing for many years, and has earlier worked as a freelance tailor and with pattern making. Vilde has a big interest in historical sewing and bodies, and has worked a lot with corsetry. At MARIA JUTERUD she is primarily working with pattern making and sewing.

Sustainibiliy and Production:
One of our biggest goals is to be as sustainable and Eco-friendly as possible. We try to get our materials locally sourced, or by suppliers with sustainability in mind and good working conditions. We make small collections so that we know everything we make will come to good use, and provide as little waste as possible. We always use leftover fabric to make accessories, so the waste is minimal. The clothes we make is designed to last for years.

All clothing items from MARIA JUTERUD are made in our studio in Oslo, Norway.
